The Siberian roebuck (Capreolus pygargus) is a mammal in the family of cervids (Cervidae). The scientific name of the species was published in 1771 by Peter Simon Pallas.
The Siberian roe deer has a head-rump length between 130 and 150 centimeters and a withers height between 93-106 (♂♂) and 88-100 (♀♀) centimeters. Siberian roe deer can reach a maximum weight of 58.8 kilograms. It is an elegant animal, with a blunt snout and a short tail. In winter, its fur is grayish brown and in summer it is reddish. The species has an ochre-colored torso patch, which does not extend above the root of the tail. Only males have antlers. This is lyre-shaped, has three to five branches and can reach 34 centimeters in length.
