Unique and unusual mounted crown dove.The crown pigeon or common crown pigeon (Goura cristata) is an endemic bird species from New Guinea. It grows about 80 centimeters long and weighs about 2.5 kilograms. The crowned dove is a pigeon that spends most of its time on the ground, where it scavenges for food. Although it can fly, it rarely does so. Its plumage is blue with dark wings. A curious feature is the fan-shaped row of feathers on the head.
