This recent very special Jaguar is set up in a quiet seated pose. The jaguar (Panthera onca) is a predator in the feline family. The scientific name of the species was published in 1758 as Felis onca by Carl Linnaeus. The jaguar is found in Central America and much of South America. Superficially, it closely resembles the leopard, but is more heavily built and has more substantial rosette markings.
