Asante stools come in many designs with symbolic meanings. They are both spiritual and practical. They were believed to be the seat of the owner's soul, and when not in use, they were leaned against a wall so that other souls passing by could find rest.
In excellent condition, with a beautiful aged patina and slight signs of wear. Origin: from a former private collection in Belgium. Collected between 1953 and 1959.
