The "Grand Tour" is that period in the second half of the 18th century when young well-to-do men from the highest strata of European Society travelled through Europe to finish their education and elevate their centre of interest. Greek and Latin Humanities were their favourite subjects and they brought back from their travels a taste for Antique Art.
