Mounted head of a blaarkop cow. The blaarkop cow is very skillfully prepared with a great eye for detail. We regularly have special cattle in our assortment. The blaarkop is an old breed of cattle, which was already described in the late Middle Ages. From time immemorial the blister head is found in the province of Groningen but also in the Rhine area between Utrecht and Leiden. The blaarkop is originally a dual-purpose cow of the meat-milk type (60%-40%) characterized by an acceptable milk and meat production. Blaarkoppen are therefore bred with a little more emphasis on meat production than on milk production.
